I caught part of “The Wedding Singer” on QTV and I was reminded of how much I love this film. It so happens that the song “Grow Old With You” was one of the first songs that Mark sang to me with his guitar. On our first anniversary, he gave me a gift that had the lyrics of the song printed on it.*sigh*
So here are the lyrics that made my heart a-flutter many, many moons ago!
I wanna make you smile whenever you’re sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with youI’ll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with youI’ll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are coldNeed you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote controlSo let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed if you’ve had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you
This means so much more to me now. Positively gushing about it!
